Welcome to Rio Grande Workshops, the best source for independent photography workshops in the Southwest. For our Premium Location workshops, we have scouted a great deal of Central New Mexico, landscapes and cities alike, to gain access to a wide variety of locations that should enhance creativity and the educational process. We offer hands-on, one-on-one instruction, with a great deal of student intereaction and participation.
Rio Grande Workshops programs will be held at our studio (see bottom button "map to Studio" on the left), unless otherwise noted in a specific workshop.

We are pleased to announce that former Playboy test photographer and Fredericks of Hollywood catalog photographer Doran Smith will be presenting the much-anticipated workshop, The Glamour Image.
The keys to successful glamour images are wardrobe, props, set construction and lighting. In this all-day workshop you will be guided through the process of planning and creating a glamour image.
Choosing a background that matches the concept, planning and acquiring props, building simple sets, and lighting will all be discussed and/or demonstrated. Smith will walk you through the creation of a simple set, wardrobe decisions, and lighting to help you create your own masterpiece.
Two sets will be available. Each photographer will have plenty of one-on-one time with the instructor, one of our models, and each set.
Pat Berrett and Tim Anderson, of Rio Grande Workshops, will be on hand to assist.
